Obama and the Hate-Mongers
Does Barack Obama’s choice of associates make him unfit for office?
Most of us learned this wise fable in grade school, and it is difficult to envision a Harvard lawyer like Barack Obama not being aware of it.
The Farmer and the Stork (Aesop, Translated by George Fyler Townsend)
A FARMER placed nets on his newly-sown plowlands and caught a number of Cranes, which came to pick up his seed. With them he trapped a Stork that had fractured his leg in the net and was earnestly beseeching the Farmer to spare his life. “Pray save me, Master,” he said, “and let me go free this once. My broken limb should excite your pity. Besides, I am no Crane, I am a Stork, a bird of excellent character; and see how I love and slave for my father and mother. Look too, at my feathers– they are not the least like those of a Crane.” The Farmer laughed aloud and said, “It may be all as you say, I only know this: I have taken you with these robbers, the Cranes, and you must die in their company.”Birds of a feather flock together. There is no evidence that the stork enabled the storks’ behavior by praising and endorsing them, and he may well have been the victim of what we would now call McCarthyite guilt by association. What must we say, however, of someone who chooses to associate with evildoers while enabling and empowering their evil?Barack Obama joined the Trinity United Church of Christ several years after its pastor, Jeremiah Wright, had accompanied the well known racist, Catholic-hating bigot, and anti-Semite Louis Farrakhan to Libya to meet with the murderous dictator Moammar Khadafy. Barack Obama remained in this church, to which he then brought his wife and daughters, while its pastor promoted blood libels of Israel and the United States. These are specifically (1) a guest column from a Palestinian sympathizer that accused Israel of developing an “ethnic bomb” to kill Black people and Arabs, and (2) the accusation that the United States created the AIDS virus, i.e. a biological weapon.

Birds of a feather flock together.
We emphasize again that, unlike the unfortunate stork of Aesop’s fable, Barack Obama did not fall in with Jeremiah Wright through a mistake or bad luck. He sought him out and chose to join his church with the full knowledge that he was already consorting with a vicious anti-Semitic, racist, and Catholic-hating bigot named Louis Farrakhan.
In April 2007, Barack Obama appeared at Al Sharpton’s National Action Network, where he praised and endorsed them as follows. “Reverend Sharpton is a voice for the voiceless, and a voice for the dispossessed. What National Action Network has done is so important to change America, and it must be changed from the bottom up.” Sharpton and the National Action Network have well established records of inciting hatred of white people and especially Jews, as shown by (1) the Tawana Brawley scandal, (2) the Crown Heights riots, and (3) the Freddy’s Fashion Mart incident. In the latter two cases, hate speech by Sharpton and/or the NAN played an indirect role in inciting hate crimes in which people were killed for being Jews (Yankel Rosenbaum) or working for a Caucasian and Jewish employer (Freddy’s).
Birds of a feather flock together.
Barack Obama also solicited and accepted the endorsement of MoveOn.org, with the full knowledge that MoveOn.org had published a vicious insult to General David Petraeus. It has also been well established that MoveOn.org welcomed anti-Semitic, anti-Catholic, anti-Evangelical, and even racist hate speech at its now disgraced Action Forum, along with 9/11 conspiracy theories that blamed the American government and/or Jews for the terrorist attack. MoveOn.org published a derogatory photomanipulation of Pope Benedict waving a gavel in front of the U.S. Supreme Court, and it is important that Catholic voters know of this.
Birds of a feather flock together.
The stork of Aesop’s fable wasted no time in denying his association with the storks, in contrast to Barack Obama’s reaction to an endorsement from Louis Farrakhan, whose record of anti-Semitism, racism, and hatred of Catholics is well known. Only after Tim Russert and Hillary Clinton pressed him on the matter three times during a televised debate, and after giving long evasive answers the first two times, did Obama finally “reject” Farrakhan’s support.
Birds of a feather flock together.
Let us not forget, and more importantly let the Republican Party not forget, that the National Jewish Democratic Council has set a clear standard under which Obama is unfit to hold any position of public trust or responsibility.
- “NJDC is deeply troubled by Governor Romney’s choice of locations to announce his Presidential campaign. Romney has been traveling the country talking about inclusiveness and understanding of people from all walks of life. Yet he chooses to kick his presidential campaign on the former estate of a well-known and outspoken anti-Semite and xenophobe. Mitt Romney’s embrace of Henry Ford and association of Ford’s legacy with his presidential campaign raises serious questions about either the sincerity of Romney’s words or his understanding of basic American history,” said NJDC Executive Director Ira Forman.
If Romney’s appearance at the museum of a long-dead EX-antisemite (noting that Ford retracted and repudiated “The International Jew”) “raises serious questions about either the sincerity of Romney’s words or his understanding of basic American history,” then what are we to say of Obama’s deliberate decision to consort openly with, praise, and empower live and unrepentant bigots like Sharpton and Wright? If MoveOn.org “bought” the Democratic Party as it boasted a few years ago, maybe it “bought” Barack Obama as well. Obama is not Blue State America, Red State America, or anything that resembles Mainstream America (e.g. those small Pennsylvania towns that “cling to guns and religion”) even remotely. Obama represents what we call donkey cancer: a malignant growth that the party must excise if it is to remain a viable and constructive force in American politics.
(Is this anything that any Blue States are willing to acknowledge as their own?)
